About Leenie

Leenie Hobbie is a traditional home herbalist with a life-long passion for wild foods and medicines as well as cultivated herbs. She loves teaching from her handbuilt homestead in the mountains of West Virginia and at area and regional venues. Through a generous grant from the WV Folklife Center, WV Humanities Council, and the National Endowment for the Arts she is working with her first official apprentice, Jon Falcone. You can follow their progress through the year by signing up for her newsletter, following the blog, and checking the calendar for events where they will be making joint presentations and sharing their experience with the apprenticeship model.

This Folklife Apprenticeship is supported by the West Virginia Folklife Program, a project of the West Virginia Humanities Council, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
